The Latest...

Easton is getting cuter each day and he is such a good baby! He is starting to understand that you sleep when it's dark and play during the day. For awhile there he would be awake from 12am-4am. Killer!! He wouldn't fuss which was great, but he would not let me put him down. He just wanted to be held. Precious I know, but I do have to admit it was very exhausting! He is doing much better so hopefully that continues. Brae has been a huge help! She loves to talk to him, feed him, and give him lots of loves. Dax loves to "pet" him. I have tried to tell Dax you pet animals not babies, but he has yet to understand that concept and continues to ask if he can pet the baby. Makes me laugh!

Braelyn had her Christmas recital a few weeks ago. She loves to cheer/dance and is so happy that her friends are in her class. Funny Brae story....I have literally been in my pj's since I had Easton and it has been driving her crazy! I signed up to help with Brae's Christmas party at her school. The night before the party I told her I was coming to her class to help them make Christmas crafts. She told me she didn't want me to come because she didn't want her class to see me in my pj's with no make-up. She proceeded to tell me that her teacher would kick me out. I laughed and reassured her that I would get all ready, put make-up on and do my hair. She said "that would be great"! That girl is so funny sometimes.

My early Christmas present from Rhett. I have never been so excited for new work out shoes/clothes as I am now! I am starting a 12 week fitness program/challenge (I guess that's what you call it) in a few weeks. I am excited to work with a personal trainer and hopefully get in shape! :)

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

Here he is...

Easton Owen Nielsen
8lbs, 8oz, 20in

I will post details and more pictures later. :)

Quick Post/Update

This is the only picture I took at Halloween. How sad! Brae was a diva and Dax was a football player. Not sure what Rhett was? I would not allow him to wear his costume outside of the house. The witch in the picture is his sister and the cute little monkey is our little niece.

I have been off on maternity leave for a few weeks now and decided to start setting up Christmas. I figured I'd be in the hospital for 5 days and that will be the last thing I'll want to do when I get home. So here's a little pic.

Baby update...I am scheduled for a C-Section on Friday. We are so excited! This will be my 3rd C-Section. First one was a breeze, second one was absolutely horrible! I'm a little nervous for this one, but it will be worth the reward in the end!!

Anyway, that's our update for now. :)

Catchin' Up

So what do you do at 330am when you can't sleep? Blog! Here I am! I have major heart burn, Braelyn is currently in our bed (she had a nightmare...so she says), and I just can't sleep. Good time to update the blog, right!? I have been so bad keeping our blog updated, but at least now I have a few things to blog about.

Braelyn started Kindergarten and LOVES it! She has the funniest routine in the morning. I wake her up, she picks out her clothes and gets herself dressed. She is pretty picky on what she wears, drives me nuts sometimes! She brushes her teeth, I do her hair, she puts on perfume, jewelry and lotion. Finally...the lip gloss. She will not leave the house until her lip gloss is applied. She's too funny! That is her routine in that order every morning. Breakfast?? She will not eat breakfast in the morning. She tells me it is too early and she's not hungry!? Alright, whatever! She is still playing Soccer with all her friends and is becoming a good little player! She started Cheer/Tumbling and really enjoys that as well. I feel so guilty having her in so many things, but she loves it all and doesn't seem to mind. Can I just say I am sooo glad that the Miley Cyrus concert (a.k.a Hannah Montana) is finally approaching! I found out she was coming to concert about 3 months ago and decided to buy tickets for Brae and I. Braelyn absolutely loves this girl! You would think after about a week she would forget about it, but not Braelyn. EVERYDAY for the last 3 months she has been asking me "how many more days until Hannah Montana, show me on your fingers." We are down to 12 days. Hooray! I can almost "show her on my fingers!!" I am excited to have some mom and daughter time with her!

Dax - Nothing really new with him. He's such a sweet boy! Misses his sister like crazy when she's at school. He loves to play football and gets mad that I won't let him tackle me. I keep telling him it will hurt the baby. It will be pretty interesting to see his reaction once the baby's here. He tells me when the baby cries, he will pick him up and rock him. Oh dear! I'm sure he will be a big helper, but we'll have to keep a close eye on him!

Pregnancy Update - All is well! I have been so tired lately! Maybe it's because I wake up at 330am? I get heart burn just looking at food. I swear I'm eating tums all day long. Braelyn now asks for them. But I wouldn't have it any other way! I am so grateful each day for this little baby and I am so excited to meet our baby boy!

Anyway, that's our update. Stay tuned for some Hannah Montana pictures!! :)

St. George

My sweet Dad wanted to take us on a little weekend getaway, so we spent the weekend in St. George. My little sister and her husband are in Tennessee for the Summer and my brother and his wife are in California so they were not able to join us. But my other sister and her family came. We had a blast! Braelyn and Daxten love their cousins and have so much fun with them! Our weekend consisted of golf, swimming, shopping, eating alot, and more shopping. On Saturday night, we went to Tuachan and saw Footloose. It was great! The kids loved it! Awesome singing and dancing! Thanks for the fun weekend, Grandma and Grandpa! You're the best!

Waiting to get in to the Theater

Waisteline I promised Rhett after I have the baby! :)

Rhett swimming w/ the kiddies

Yummy dinner at Outback

All 11 of us piled in and drove to the outlets. This is my cute sister!

We had Melissa take pictures of the kids a few weeks ago. She did an awesome job! I love how they turned out! Here are a few pics...Thanks, Melissa!

May Happenings + BABY!

Our new addition will be joining us in November! We are sooo excited!!

We spent all day Saturday at Raging Waters. Braelyn had her dance recital there. She is currently the only one in her class which means she had to perform all by herself. I was so nervous that she would not do it, but she was so brave and got on the stage by herself and did her dance. She did awesome! She is learning so much in her class and becoming a good little dancer! We are so proud of her! After her performance, we hit the slides. The weather was perfect and the park was not too crowded. Fun day! Here are a few pics.

Braelyn graduated from Preschool. She loved her teacher, Ms. Amy and wishes she could be her teacher in Kindergarten!

I have been a huge blog slacker! I finally have some free time to write a quick update. Braelyn had her birthday party this past Saturday. She turns 5 on May 18th. I can't believe it! I am still in shock with the fact that she will be starting Kindergarten in August. So crazy!! Her party was fun! I found the cutest purse pinata! It was so fun watching all the girls try to break it! They were swinging the bat so hard. We finally had to give them a little hand.

In other news, our Company (Rhett and I work at the same place) laid off 500 employees this past week. I am thankful to say that we did not get impacted by this. It was a little scary! I had the feeling all along that we would be okay, and we were. I complain all the time about having to work! I'd much rather be home with my kids! I know I will eventually get to do that, but for now I need to be grateful for the fact that I am still employed, have amazing benefits, and I might add...I have been there for 10 freakin' years! Holy smokes! Anyway, here are some pics of Brae's party and a pic of the kids on Easter Sunday (for you Nat).

Girl's Night!!

Braelyn has been begging me to take her to a concert. So, I decided it would be fun for just her and I to go to David Archuleta! She has his CD memorized! Let me just say she is one fun concert gal! She danced on her seat, did the wave with the crowd, and yelled "Go David" the entire time. On the way to the concert, she asked me if he would get embarrassed if she yelled, "Go David". I told her maybe, but he'll enjoy it! Sure enough, she yelled his name after every song! She was so dang cute! Seeing her so happy like that melted my heart. She is such a sweet girl! Love you, Brae!

So what did Rhett and Dax do? Rhett asked me if he could take Dax to the shooting range. I said absolutely not! They ended up at Arctic Circle. Apparently, Dax would not go down the slides. He told Rhett he was to shy?? What!? That boy cracks me up! Since I put the kabosh on the shooting range idea, he took him to Wal-mart and bought him a nerf gun. Dax keeps teling me he will "shoot the bad man!!" No more watching "Cops" with the kids, Rhett!! Anyway, as soon as Brae and I walked in the door from the concert, we were Daxten's target. That explains the tears. It's just a nerf gun, Brae!!

We're back and had a BLAST in Disneyland! The kids loved it! We decided to fly since the kids have always wanted to ride in an airplane. My sister and her husband came with us also. I'm so glad they came! Rhett and I were able to go on a few rides together while they took our kids on the littler rides. It was the perfect time to go to Disneyland. The weather was great and the longest line was only 30 minutes. Braelyn was Miss Dare Devil! She wanted to ride every roller coaster and cried when the lady told her she was not tall enough to ride the California Screamer. She cried and cried and said the lady hurt her feelings. She kept asking if she would be taller tomorrow so she could ride it. She didn't like my answer. Oh well, she still had tons of fun and got some cool stuff!

Date Night!

Rhett and I went to the Rascal Flatts concert tonight. It was alot of fun! One of the best concerts I've been to. Jessica Simpson opened up for them. I was anxious to hear her sing live. I use to be a big fan of Jessica when she was married to Nick Lachey. I LOVED watching "Newlyweds" and was so sad when they divorced! My ratings of her have since dropped. She actually did a good job, messed up only once and yelled "oh crap" in her mic. She handled it well though and made a joke of it. I do have to give her some props...she is not fat at all!! From what the magazines have been saying, I was expecting her to look a little on the heavy side, but she didn't at all! She looked really cute and pretty toned! (Rhett was loving it!) During the concert, her back up singer walked right past us. Rhett stopped her and asked if we could get our picture with her. So this is the closest we got to Jessica! Rascal Flatts did an amazing job! They were very entertaining and put on a great concert!

Sugar Cookies!

Braelyn has been begging me to make cookies she can frost by herself. So today we made Valentine sugar cookies. I finally had a reason to use my Kitchen Aid. I got it for Christmas 2 years ago and have only used it once. Shows how much I cook! Homemade sugar cookies are always the best, but they make such a mess (especially when you have 2 little helpers) and they are so time consuming. It was well worth it though! We stayed in our pj's all day as you can see by the pictures. Love days like this! :)

Dax update....Dax is doing much better! The Doctor wants to wait 6 weeks before he has his tonsils out to make sure he is completely RSV free. We decided to take our family trip to Disneyland before the surgery. I'm looking forward to warmer weather, a week off of work (HOORAY!!) and just a fun time with the fam!

Sickness Never Ends!

It has been a long couple of weeks! We have all been sick. Here is a run down:

Braelyn gets sick first...with the flu. Then Rhett gets sick. After a few days, he gets better. Dax and I are going strong...until the following week. I get sick. Start feeling a little better and hope Dax doesn't catch any of our sicknesses. Wishful thinking, huh! The next day, wake up, Daxten's eyes are all watery and really red. Pink eye! Weird! No one has had that yet. Take him to the Doctor , find out he has a double ear infection on top of that. Fabulous! Start him on his antibiotic. Next week, take Dax back to the Doctor, but this time we went to see his ENT Doctor. Daxten has HUGE tonsils. The Doctor refers to them has "kissing tonsils" because they touch. Anyway, he snores really bad. I mean REALLY BAD! He will also stop breathing for a few seconds when he sleeps. Pretty scary! He needs to get them taken out. I have been putting this off because it breaks my heart knowing the pain he will have to go through for awhile. But I know he will be better off. We schedule his surgery for 2 weeks. (keep in mind he is still sick and now has a horrible cough) The ENT Doctor told me I can only give him Tylenol because Motrin and Ibuprofen are blood thinners. I'm pretty bummed because Tylenol never works for him. Well his fever continues and never breaks. After 3 days of antibiotics, tylenol every 4 hours, still no luck! My motherly instincts kick in. Due to the fact that Dax has had RSV every year since he's been born, I was certain he had it again. I took him to the Doctor today and sure enough, he has RSV. They took chest x-rays to be sure he didn't have pneumonia. His chest looks good, but it can easily turn into that. Since he has had RSV in the past, we had the nebulizer machine. We did a few treatments at the Doctor and will continue doing them 3 times a day at home. As for the surgery, we have put if off for a few more weeks until he is 100% better. Fine by me!! :) I am thrilled to be able to give him motrin!

Thanks for letting me vent about our crazy few days/weeks. I am so anxious for warm weather!!

I turned 27! I'm getting old! Here is the cake the kids picked out for me! Dax is on a train fetish, so they went with the train cake. Still don't know how Rhett talked Braelyn out of getting me the Hannah Montana cake....maybe it's the 5 things of lip gloss I found in the sack??
Later that day, Rhett and I went to the Body Worlds Exhibit. It was pretty interesting! Part of the exhibit shows the stages of a baby. It was incredible. The human body is amazing! We ended the night with a yummy dinner at Texas Roadhouse! Thanks for the fun day!

Big shout out to my cute husband! He got up at 730am on my birthday and made a delicious breakfast! He was so excited...until he realized we didn't have any syrup! Oh well, it's the thought that counts and the french toast was still good! :)
